HSI - Home Structural Inc. was established in May 2011 by Eric Heidema, P.Eng. and Marc Ouellette, A.Sc.T. HSI is a full service structural engineering consulting firm based in Campbell River. We mainly service the residents and businesses in Campbell River, however, we have done, and will do, projects all along Vancouver Island and surrounding Islands. We are experienced in the design of conventional wood framing, heavy timber framing, structural steel, concrete building systems, and retaining walls. Eric Heidema, P.Eng., Owner:  Eric has over 15 years design experience in the structural engineering industry. While in school at UBC, Eric spent his summers working with Team Engineering Inc. of Vancouver BC. in the capacity of project and site manager on a variety of commercial renovation projects. Following graduation from UBC in May 2005 with a Bachelors of Applied Science degree, Eric started working with Anthony Seaman Ltd., a multi-disciplinary design engineering firm in North Vancouver BC, specializing in the design of sawmills and other industrial structures. In 2007 Eric joined Heidema Engineering Ltd. as a lead structural designer and has worked on over 150 projects under the guidance of Pete Heidema, P.Eng. Eric is committed to continuing professional development. Engineering Graphics & Design Technology. Marc began his career with a structural engineering firm in Prince George, BC. Marc spent four years with working on over 100 structural design projects for heavy industrial clients including: pulp and paper mills, chemical plants, and refineries. Marc joined Heidema Engineering Ltd. in March 2002 performing drafting, structural design,
construction inspection, and project administration duties on a variety of projects ranging from single family residential houses to multi-storey condominiums, and nearly everything in between.
